The Race to Happiness aims to remind that every step taken, every stair climbed is a political act, an assertion of basic rights. We don’t climb the ‘stairs’ just for ourselves, but for all those who have been silenced and marginalized throughout history, and also for those yet to come. Our race is the fight for a society and a country where everyone can live without fear of being who they are. Our happiness is our freedom.
Júlia Preto is a photographer with over 10 years of experience. She is currently a medical student and finds in photography the opportunity to express her love and care for people through art.
