Apel deschis pentru o lucrare artistică Lente x Un-hidden Romania

Save or Cancel, the initiator of the multi-year programme of urban regeneration through art Un-hidden Romania, invites you to create an artistic intervention on a wall in the courtyard of Lente Lupu Bucharest.

In Lente‘s urban living room, your work will continue Aitch, Cutărică, Kitră, Ada Mușat, Saddo, Pren, Mura, Binescris, Irlo, Livia Fălcaru, Reg, Sorina Vazelina, Primitiv Print, Kseleqoqynqyshy, Pisica Pătrată or the japanese artist Aito Kitazaki, created within the framework of Pictăm Pereți and Un-hidden Bucharest.

The winning artistic intervention will be created by the winner(s), with the support of Lente and Save or Cancel, within the multi-year Un-hidden Romania programme. The work will propose a journey through independent art in Bucharest’s public spaces, inviting the public to add new outstanding works.

How?

The open call produces an artistic intervention that proposes an interactive map of independent artworks in Bucharest’s public space.

The art intervention can be temporary or permanent, assembled, painted, written, or any other kind of intervention or installation. The wall could contain stylised landmarks of Bucharest outlining a map of the central areas where the selected works could be marked. The marking of the artworks could take the form of photographs placed next to the urban landmarks, along with the address where the mural can be found and a QR code linking to the artist(s) instagram/facebook page. In this way, other works could be added to this map later, like a jigsaw puzzle. But this is just a suggestion and for this reason, we appeal to your creativity.

Why?

  • To increase the sense of belonging and identity by (re)discovering the city through art;
  • art has the capacity to humanise public space, enhancing dialogue and co-participation;
  • there is already an interesting series of cultural initiatives and independent artistic interventions that enhance the quality of public space in Bucharest;
  • awareness: recognition of the contribution of independent art to the creation of an urban culture, acknowledgment of this urban independent art culture – any such map works as a meta for the space of independent art works.
