The work will be available for viewing starting September 18.
About Sunshiners
Nikolay Bozhinov, also known as SUNSHINERS, is a Bulgarian street artist with a foundation in graffiti. SUNSHINERS is known for creating unique expressions that merge cave paintings with graffiti, transforming urban ruins into recognizable urban emojis. While pursuing a degree in Fine Arts, his portfolio expanded to include more traditional academic forms of fine art. However, transforming public spaces and reshaping the public perception of visual culture remains his primary source of fulfilment and excitement.
In his work, deeply rooted in conceptual art, SUNSHINERS delves into sociopsychological themes through a diverse range of multi-component works that vary in size, material, and setting. He predominantly uses industrial paint and spray cans to breathe new life into neglected walls and objects in urban environments. His artistic journey has taken him to various cities across Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Germany and the US, leaving a unique mark each time. Notably, the city of Bucharest was captivated by his work, created alongside Viktoria Georgieva (Mishka / Mouse) during the 2015 Street Delivery event.
In addition to his street art exhibited in public spaces, SUNSHINERS participates in solo exhibitions and group shows, creating carefully planned gallery pieces and installations connected to the exhibition spaces.
Currently based in Varna, Bulgaria, SUNSHINERS is a dedicated contributor to the vibrant street art scene. He contributes significantly to Balkan street art through projects like BSBSA (Bucharest Sofia Belgrade Street Art). His commitment and passion for his craft inspire many and foster a sense of connection within the street art community.
