Call Rules
Chapter 1. About the Call
Art. 1. The open call for art photography in public space is organized by Save or Cancel Production SRL, with support from AFCN and is part of the cultural program “Un-hidden Romania”.
Art. 2. The objective of the call is to identify and publish photographs showing artistic interventions in public spaces throughout Romania.
Chapter 2. Eligibility: participants and ideas
Art. 1. The call is open to the public and open to any natural person or group of natural persons.
Art. 2. Employees of Save or Cancel, AFCN, or of the partners of the cultural programme, and their first-degree relatives are not eligible to participate in this open call.
Art. 3. Participants may submit a maximum of three proposals in this open call.
Art. 4. Prizes may not be combined, which means that no participant may win more than one prize, either as an individual or as a member of different groups.
Art. 5. In the case of photos with identical scores, the ranking will be decided by a specially convened committee of 3 members.
Art. 6. Entries must respect human rights and may not contain abusive, obscene, defamatory, illegal elements, or promote racial, ethnic or sexual discrimination.
Art. 7. The organiser may refuse images entered in the open call if the authors do not comply with the rules.
Chapter 3. Submission
Art. 1. Ideas can be submitted between 1 and 30 November 2021, 23:59, in digital format, at info@saveorcancel.tv or by filling in the form published on the website of the Un-hidden Romania programme – https://un-hidden.ro.
Art. 2. In order to participate in the open call, applicants must read and interpret the materials published by the organiser, responding to all the requirements of the open call.
Art. 3. Participants may send questions about this open call to info@saveorcancel.tv. If they may be useful to other participants, questions and answers will be published on the Un-hidden Romania website – https://un-hidden.ro, the organiser’s website, saveorcancel.tv and feeder.ro.
Art. 4. The entry will contain:
- The filled-in application form on the project website: name, e-mail address, link to portfolio or social media,
- a link to the photo entered in the call, uploaded on any file sharing service such as dropbox, google drive, wetransfer, etc.;
- optional: a short description of the photo, maximum 40 words;
Art. 5. There is no fee for participating in this open call.
Art. 6. If there are any uncertainties, the organizer may ask participants for additional information about their entries. Failure to reply will disqualify the applicant.
Chapter 4. Selection
Art. 1. The selection of the winning photos for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes is made by anonymous online public voting on the Un-hidden Romania website.
Art. 2. The evaluation criteria recommended to the public are:
- the quality of the photograph
- innovation in the choice and representation of the photographed intervention
- relevance to the theme of the call
Art. 3. Save or Cancel production will announce the results of the selection to the public, in December 2021, online, on the programme’s website, https://un-hidden.ro, and by other means of communication.
Chapter 5. Awards
1st place
- prize: 600 lei.
- Promotion within the framework of the Un-hidden Romania cultural programme, street art map and the exhibition in May 2023, in Bucharest.
2nd place
- prize: 500 lei.
- promotion in the framework of the Un-hidden Romania cultural programme, street art map and the exhibition in May 2023, in Bucharest.
3rd place
- prize: 400 lei.
- promotion in the framework of the Un-hidden Romania cultural programme, street art map and the exhibition in May 2023, in Bucharest.
Chapter 6. Intellectual property rights
Art. 1. Applicants take full responsibility for the ideas submitted, ensuring that they comply with copyright and intellectual property laws.
Art. 2. Winners agree, by participating in this open call, to assign non-exclusive and non-territorially restricted intellectual property rights to the winning photographs of the Un-hidden Romania cultural programme for the purpose of subsequent publication for the promotion and communication of the results of the programme.
Art. 3. Winners may use in their portfolio and biography the title “Winner Art Photography in Public Space Call, Un-hidden Romania, December 2021”.
Chapter 7. Other mentions
Art. 1. Save or Cancel may amend or change these Rules, informing the public through the same communication channels used to launch the open call.
