The Romanian Street Art exhibition marks the conclusion of the multi-year urban regeneration through art programme.
The multi-year Romanian Street Art programme ends with an exhibition, the launch of a printed catalogue, and a street art map. The event honours the contributions of artists and initiatives that, over two years, have reshaped the relationship between art and public space in Romania.
The Romanian Street Art programme invited 26 artists from eight countries, who created 15 artistic interventions in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Iași, helping to regenerate urban spaces through contemporary art. Some of the works include QR codes that can be scanned to listen to murals’ soundtracks, composed by DJs and electronic music producers such as Cezar Lazăr, Cosmjn, Kozo, and Paul K.
Throughout the project, two open calls, five creative workshops, four guided tours, and an online map of Romania’s latest street art works were organised, aiming to humanise public spaces through art.
The Romanian Street Art exhibition comprises two separate areas, providing visitors with a visual insight into the world of local street art.
Outside the Lente urban living room, street art enthusiasts can explore a series of billboards displayed in public spaces, showcasing the results of the multi-annual programme and works by artists such as Artminina & LBWS Cat (Ucraina), Christopher Dyer (Canada) & Klonism (Regatul Unit), Delia Cîrstea & Roper, Grupa Mosaic (Polonia), Ma.tei, Msero, Pisica Pătrată & Harcea Pacea, Sunshiners (Bulgaria), Zivink (Israel), Zmaja (Serbia), and Zmogk (Rusia).
