Un-hidden Connections, co-funded by the Romanian Cultural Institute through the Cantemir Programme, brings to Belgrade, between 4 and 18 September, a series of cultural activities dedicated to examining Constantin Brâncuși’s legacy through urban art.
Organised by Save or Cancel in collaboration with Kruna Association, the project features an exhibition, two debates, two creative workshops and two multidisciplinary performances, offering the Serbian public a contemporary perspective on how cultural heritage can be rediscovered through contemporary artistic practices.
The two debates create a space where cultural managers, researchers, and artists from Romania and Serbia have meaningful conversations about Brâncuși’s legacy in contemporary urban art. The guests are Ljiljana Radošević, Aleksandar Djalek Đorđević, Jelena Popović Đorđević, LUNĂ, Pisica Pătrată, Jana, Milena Jokanović, TKV and Chenipe, alongside project initiators Cristina Popa, Andrei Racovițan.
The audiences are invited to further explore the subject by taking part in two creative workshops led by Romanian artists Alexandru Ciubotariu (Pisica Pătrată) and LUNĂ.
To expand on the countries and artistic disciplines convergence, two multidisciplinary performances bring together Romanian visual artists working in collaboration with musicians from Serbia, in which live painting will interact with DJ sets, creating an artistic experience that blends visual art, music and cultural heritage.
Through this project, Romania and Serbia strengthen their cultural dialogue, demonstrating that Constantin Brâncuși’s work remains a living source of inspiration, capable of connecting communities through the universal language of art.
