Un-hidden Connections is an international cultural project taking place in Belgrade, which aims to reinterpret the work of Constantin Brâncuși through contemporary urban art from Romania. The project showcases 13 works of urban art inspired by Brâncuși’s legacy, presented in an exhibition accompanied by debates, workshops and multidisciplinary performances. Organised in partnership with the Serbian organisation Kruna, the project facilitates Romanian-Serbian cultural dialogue and the exchange of practices between artists and cultural professionals, highlighting the contemporary relevance of Romanian cultural heritage within a European context. Through its interdisciplinary approach, Un-hidden Connections contributes to raising the profile of Romanian culture on the international stage and to strengthening interest in its artistic values amongst contemporary audiences.
The project features an exhibition, two debates, two creative workshops and two multidisciplinary performances, offering the Serbian public a contemporary perspective on how cultural heritage can be rediscovered through contemporary artistic practices.

The performance component involves the creation of two multidisciplinary artistic interventions as part of a Romanian-Serbian co-production, combining live painting by visual artists from Romania with musical performances by musicians from Serbia, and will explore the themes: ‘Constantin Brâncuși’s legacy in contemporary art’ and ‘Folkloric motifs in Brâncuși’s work’. These performances are conceived as extensions of the exhibition’s themes and as forms of real-time reinterpretation of the visual and conceptual elements associated with Brâncuși’s work.
By integrating the exhibition with live performances, this artistic production adopts an interdisciplinary and participatory format that goes beyond the traditional exhibition model and facilitates a dynamic, accessible and relevant cultural experience for contemporary audiences.

The creative workshops, led by Romanian artists Pisica Pătrată and LUNĂ, offer a hands-on introduction to the themes and motifs specific to the work of Constantin Brâncuși, through practical exercises in visual reinterpretation. Participants are invited to explore elements such as the symbolism of forms, folkloric influences and the relationship between tradition and the contemporary world, developing their own artistic creations in an interactive setting. The workshops facilitate direct engagement with contemporary artistic practices and contribute to an understanding of the current relevance of Romanian cultural heritage within a European context.
